Description / Inspiration:
This painting was inspired by the quiet transition from summer into autumn, a moment when the landscape seems to pause before the season fully changes. I was drawn to the contrast between the cool, hazy blue mountains in the distance and the explosion of warm color across the field.
The tall grasses in the foreground became an important part of the painting, allowing me to explore texture, movement, and the feeling of standing within the landscape rather than simply looking at it.
Loose, expressive brushwork gives the landscape an almost dreamlike quality. Earthy browns, grays, and deep greens are energized by passages of golden yellow and amber, suggesting the fleeting light of late afternoon. The contrast between the fragile, luminous house and the surrounding wilderness creates a feeling of both nostalgia and resilience.
